Pablo The Apprentice….
A pointillism portrait of my handsome boxer – ‘Pablo the Apprentice!’ When people say he’s a beautiful dog … I had to agree and inspired me to capture him in this unique style.
This was a private portrait made with love for me but I hope you enjoy. AMR

Hi! Allow me to introduce myself…Again.
Some of you may not have met me yet. I work with ‘The Artist’ and have a FULL TIME job at the Studio. I’m responsible for: Greetings, Hugs, Kissing, Puppy Security Patrol, Napping and Creating Laughs. Is this work? Well I get paid in bones… (Yes that embarrassing baby pic is me… )
I’ve been called by a lot of different names… ‘Pablo Picasso’… ‘Handsome Boy’ … ‘BIG Boxer’ … ‘Sweet Pup’… but, if you’re asking…I like to be called ‘Pablo the Apprentice.’ Once in a while I’ll be posting a Blog covering events, recaps… or just accounts of my career as an ‘Apprentice.’
I promised a report on how Art Walk was last weekend at the Studio… and I believe ‘A Picture is Worth a Thousand Bones!” PS Somebody asked if I was for sale…!! 🦴 Gotta Run – Woof!
We will be hosting visitors Friday night from 6-10 pm in our Studio. Five Deuces Galleria Orange Building Studio 5. Artworks by AMR. Catch our Summer Sizzle Sale! 2149 3rd Ave. S, Studio #5, St Petersburg, FL 33712. We hope to SEE YOU!
‘Pablo the Apprentice’ July Summer Essay…
Heard I’m supposed to write an essay on what I did during my summer vacation. Here’s an excerpt…’Yesterday was a busy day at the studio – and I met more fun people. I had “conversations” with a few of them… ! My favorites are those that give me free puppy massages (yes I took a bath and smelled AMAZING). I really like the ones that let me lick them!…
After the studio I had to go home… and go to bed early. The Artist went to a gallery opening at Five Deuces Galleria for the new show. She said she had fun with people trying to guess what the images were – this time she showed a couple abstract paintings… ‘The Calm’ and ‘Splash!’ People see all kinds of interesting things in them – and I’m not allowed to tell you what she painted inside them.. plus, I’m not sure you speak ‘Boxer’ anyway!
Here are a few pics… gotta love these visitors! And one day hoping they join the growing group of collectors of our work! Til’ the next time – keep those FIREWORKS away from me! One of my least favorite holidays of the year… Oh – Click here to not miss the Sale! And come see me sometime – Woof! 🦴 🐾

In a prior interview you said that ‘Art is your passion’ as well as that of the Artist… you have been working at the studio several months now…is that still true? 🐾
A: June was an especially good time at the studio- I got one day off from the Artist – she actually left me to just chill-in to catch up on Lassie episodes while she worked. Mostly I am at the studio… the hours can be long but, I renewed my contract… and I got that RAISE! More Bones for me!

Pablo ‘The Apprentice’: Ever Wonder What a Giclée is?
Hi I’m back! I was having a nice puppy nap… and when I woke I remembered I was supposed to explain what a Giclée is and why I prefer them. I spent some time with ‘The Artist’ and her team at Davidson Fine Art. By the way they also do this work for many of the top artists and museums around. This week I saw Giclées being made for the Dali Museum! Click HERE for Some quick facts:
I hope that helped!

What is a Giclée?
Giclée prints are currently the most sophisticated method of print production on earth.
- These are extremely high-quality archival print reproductions made with the finest materials and the best inks available. No exaggeration!
- The skilled craftsman takes a high resolution image of the painting (done in a professional studio) and analyzes and adjusts it to closely match the original painting. Superior density pigment dyes are sprayed using specialty equipment. They can be produced either on canvas or Archival Fine Art papers. The artist is usually is consulted with for a final approval, ensuring the accuracy of the reproduction.
- Because of the quality of the materials used, Giclées last more than 100 years – making them significantly different than a lower cost mass production art print. Think of the difference between a newspaper print and a poster or greeting card… how it may fade or smudge over time. There are prints… and then there is a Giclée.
- A Giclée on Archival paper is fine art, often released in a limited edition, making them more valuable for art collectors or investors. Many are hand signed and the artist may offer certificates of authenticity for those pieces.
- Some artists add their own “Hand Embellishment” to a Giclée. This means the artist paints over parts of the canvas by hand to emphasize specific attributes of a painting. Those embellishments might even be customized specific to the request of the purchaser. Any “Hand Embellished Giclée on canvas” is a unique piece of art – no two are ever the same. This personalization makes them more valuable as unique and original pieces of art because of the variations made.
I hope this helps… When you are unable to obtain an original, there is nothing wrong with buying a standard “art print.” But, if you can spend the extra money and want a collectible piece of “Fine Art” I recommend you go with a Giclée.
